‘Tis the season to be merry…and for some it is also the season ‘to-be-married.’ Such is the case for Ivanka Trump and her new husband, Jared Kushner. ‘Tis also the season for reflection, and this marriage gives us the opportunity to look at relationship compatibility and family patterns, and how they are many times more closely linked that we would like to think.

Ivana Trump was not just a pretty face when she married The Donald in 1977. In fact, she played a major role in developing his business empire, even winning “Hotel Manager of the Year” in 1990. The same year, she also discovered The Donald was celebrating the holiday season in his own merry way; this is, with another woman. This infamous indiscretion with Marla Maples would ultimately end their marriage.

Let’s take a look at Ivana and The Donald’s basic compatibility traits. The most noticeable trait is that she supports him while he does not support her. This indicates that on an energetic level she naturally supports him in reaching career success, which was certainly the case in reality.

Next, let’s take a peek at their element combination. Ivana is Yin Metal, which is represented in nature as precious and refined metal – that’s right, just think diamond Cartier. The Donald is Yin Earth, represented in nature as soil, or let’s just say it, dirt. Now imagine how these two elements interact in nature….Let’s say you’re on a walk in the woods, and opps! your Cartier earrings fall off onto the muddy path…Now imagine the earrings get lost and buried in the mud for thirteen years (the length of Ivana and The Donald’s marriage). The earrings have been covered by the rich, wet soil; left in earth’s mixture and exposed to nature’s elements- not exactly the way to take care of your precious jewelry, is it? So you can imagine that The Donald did not exactly help Ivana’s true nature to shine, but rather he covered her inner sparkle during their many years of marriage. This, of course, was not The Donald’s intention, but rather an inevitable result of their underlying element combination. Not much you can do when your Cartier earrings get buried in the mud, is there?

And finally, perhaps the most unpleasant truth, affairs are predictable. There are certain months, or even years, that two individuals clash and disturb each other on an energetic level. Have you ever had a period of time that your husband or wife just, well, annoyed the hell out of you, and not for any particular reason? That’s kind of what we are talking about. The degree of such a “clash” varies, and in its more extreme degrees affairs are extremely likely, some would even say inevitable.

In 1990, the Trumps experienced an energetic clash in their relationship. Ivana’s energy was especially powerful that year, as see in her award as Hotel Manager of the Year. However, energetically, she also disturbed her partner, making him feel uncomfortable and restless. It would not have mattered which man she was with at the time, he would automatically feel distant from her and unsatisfied in the relationship. The result? Well, when you don’t know the gun is loaded, it’s hard to dodge the bullet. And so, The Donald followed that natural instinct which was to find comfort in another woman’s arms. If he had only known the extent to which Ivana supported his career, he might have chosen his path differently. But, Ivana and Marla’s infamous meeting on the Aspen ski slopes sealed their fate and their marriage ended the same year.
